ABCNJ Pastors' Academy wants your input!

ABCNJ Academy, in conjunction with Rev. Joe Gratzel, is considering offering a special training course, "Mental Health First Aid." This 8 hour course is an in-person training which teaches clergy how to help people developing a mental illness or in a crisis." Those who complete the course should:

  • Be able to understand how to recognize the signs of addictions and mental illnesses
  • Be able to create a 5-step action plan to assess a situation and help
  • Be able to analyze the impact of mental and substance use disorders
  • Be able to locate local resources and know where to turn for additional help

The Academy is considering offering this class as an overnight retreat at Camp Lebanon, beginning Monday evening and ending early Tuesday afternoon.
