ABCNJ “Communities in Action” Grant Program
“Who is my neighbor?”
Jesus defines neighbor through the story of the Samaritan who extended kindness and compassion to a stranger; one that was beaten, robbed, and abandoned by the side of a road. Jesus defines neighbor as the one who sees the humanity in the person in need and journeys together towards healing and wholeness. Jesus charges us to “go and do” as the Samaritan demonstrated. The call to go and do reverberates in our communities today as the material, emotional, and spiritual needs of our neighbors continue to mount amidst social, political and economic marginalization.
ABCNJ’s Communities in Action initiative seeks to encourage and support those that answer Jesus’ call to go and do. Communities in Actions grants of up to $2,000 will be awarded for new ministry proposals that provide the following information:
Define the ministry’s objectives
Identify needs of the community
Describe the people in the community that you will reach; (more specifically, those who are not-yet-Christians or affiliated with a church).
Describe members of ministry team
How the community will encounter and share the Gospel message
Budget of how requested funds will be used
Communities in Action grant applications will be accepted from July 18 through September 9, 2022. Please see application for details and requirements.
